I get a lot of questions about Pop3 for cpanel email accounts, so here is the proper configuration:

Here are the common settings if you are using an email you created with cpanel. We'll say your email is "articles@supercow.com"

* Server: mail.supercow.com
* Port: 110
* SSL: Unchecked
* Account Name: articles+supercow.com
* Password: Whateveritis
* SPA: Unchecked
* Delete: Unchecked

Note the PLUS+ sign in the account name

That's It! Hit the Test button and Article Marketing Robot should succeed!

Why delete unchecked?

If I keep on submiting articles, the email will accumulate to a huge number. In fact, I watched another member's video tutorial, and he checked delete option.

Well I don't delete the messages. The just site in unmanned email accounts. You can delete if you want.

Hi Vince
I've been using AMR for a couple of weeks and it is fantastic, i just found the forum(didn't know it existed) and see that you are recommending using + for the user account name instead of @

I have been using @ and it seems to be working ok for the 10 or so accounts i have set up, though i must say acceptance is probably only around 65-70% for new accounts, as i'm getting decent acceptance rates i am reluctant to change to the + but wondering if you think it should be higher than 70% and whether the + is the reason.

Cheers

I use the @ too, never heard of using + before. Works fine for me (Hostgator hosting w/ cpanel.)

As long as you can successfully verify the pop settings, meaning the software can successfully access the email inbox, I can't see why it would make a difference for the number of submissions. Failed registrations are more than likely due to problems with the article directory itself.

I was having trouble at first too but got it figured out. Make sure that you have incoming POP server and incoming POP port correct.

For those on Hostgator, I am attaching a screenshot of what the settings should look like. To get your "incoming POP server" go into the home screen of your cpanel and look at the bottom left.

In my cpanel it says "gator754" which translates into "secure754.hostgator.com" for the purposes of your POP settings in Article Marketing Robot.

Also, just make sure that the password you are putting in is the password that you set for the email account you created in your cpanel and NOT your password that you are using in Article Marketing Robot or for account creation at the article directories.

Sean

That's an odd way of doing it, but if it works for you then do it.

I have never had a problem using my original recommendations tho.
